OK so some of those aren’t GPL’ed but you get the point. They sure as hell aren’t proprietary. 80%? Niche apps may be closed source – think Photoshop, games. Think Click N Run (shudder).
I don’t think this is a very valid criticism – because when it comes to hardware devices, there are a LOT of shitty drivers/software written for them in Windows, so just because there is ‘official’ support for a particular device, I wouldn’t necessarily say it counts if the software for it cannot stay up for longer than 20 minutes without crashing and burning (assuming there were no other software alternatives out there).
The new Fizik Terra bar tape, in its muted colours and soft compound, looks like it could be the perfect gravel riding companion. We recently checked out the tape, and despite the gravel-specific ridiculing, are all really excited to get our bars wrapped in Terra tape.
